We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us. -Nelson Mandela

Creativity is my birthright. I am a natural creator. Creativity is the natural order of life. Life is energy-- pure creative energy. It is my birthright to co-create my life and my experience. My dreams come from God. The power to fulfill my dreams is God-given. There is an in-dwelling, underlying creative power infusing all of life, including ourselves. When we open ourselves to our creativity, we open ourselves to the Great Creator working with us and within us.

  1. THANK YOU Julia for all the inspiration!!!

  2. Your books give me much food for thought, and encouragement in my creativity,

A collection of thoughts like the above, are pinned to a board above my desk, at home, and are read every morning.

Attracting readers, and feedback, has been a problem, but I have learned not to let that hold me back from continuing to create, and finding ways to reach out.

I go to a local Poetry Open Mic, and had a chance to got to a Short Story Open Mic, but something else came up that kept me from it.

I so want to read at a short story open mic because I have pieces witten years ago, but that have sat un touched because previous attempts at getting feedback went nowhere.

  3. So well said, Julia! Creativity is indeed so important – the world would be such a dull place without it.

  4. This is one of my favourite inspiring quotes from Marianne Williamson’s ‘A Return to Love’, used by Nelson Mandela in his Inauguration speech. I only wish the author were recognised for her words more often.

  5. Creativity is your birthright is such a true statement. I always wonder how fulfilled everyone would be if they could embrace their creative energy instead of squashing it? Imagine the smiles!

Funny, how many quotes, whether spoken consciously or unconsciously of this fact, have their meaning rooted in Scripture. Paul wrote that we should do all things, whatever we do (I think of Brother Laurence washing dishes and praying), to the glory of God.
