Whether you consider yourself a gourmet chef or a total beginner in the kitchen, there is a recipe that you can make with your child. Choose something appropriate for both of you, then create your dish together, from shopping to cleanup.
Allow your child to participate and be "in charge" of appropriate steps. Notice the ownership you both feel when you are enjoying the meal or snack together, and congratulate yourselves on a job well done.
