As part of this online creativity workshop, members get access to the Active Artist community, a social network where artists can form groups and engage in conversations. Julia takes part in the community by answering artists’ questions in her blog, sharing inspiration, and encouraging creative clusters to support each other. Whenever the need for inspiration strikes or motivation for doing morning pages is needed, the online community of artists will keep each other on track with their creative goals. Not a member yet? The Groups
The Active Artist community is made up of the other artists taking the course. Each artist can customize their profile, join conversations in forums and create groups based on their interests. There are groups for painters, actors and writers to connect. There are also location-based groups, which allow artists to share ideas for artist dates in their city or plan meetups. Members can send messages to others publicly within the community or send private messages to each other if they connect as friends within the site.
Please note that only full members can create private groups and forums, which are open only to other full members. All members can participate in discussion in the Artists’ Roundtable.
The Forums
Within each group, members can pose questions to others by starting a forum on the topic. Our community manager has started forum topics within the groups centered on each of the twelve weeks of the course. These questions and writing prompts are meant to inspire conversations.
How much an artist participates in the community, and what information they share about themselves, is completely up to the individual. See our Privacy Policy for details.
